No need to introduce Shrek – the green creature who fights to free Princess Fiona from captivity in the hands of the dreaded dragon for Lord Farquaad in exchange for keeping the peace. When you see it next time, catch the voices of Eddie Murphy or Cameron Diaz. It shouldn´t be difficult.
Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride
Like if there was somebody better suited for Tim Burton´s movies than Johnny Depp. After Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street or Alice in Wonderland, once again with a slightly creepy topic, this time, though, without a visible participation of Burton´s favourite actor. The leading female voice belongs to Helena Bonham Carter.
A Christmas Carol
Christmas is just around the corner, and so A Christmas Carol must be just right for the weekend, this time presented by Walt Disney in 3D animation and with a parade of famous voices, such as Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, and Robin Wright. The leading and multiple characters‘ voice, though, belongs to Jim Carrey. Maybe it is my imagination, or maybe it‘s the facial expressions of Ebenezer Scrooge, but somehow it seems that Carrey insinuates himself into Scrooge‘s looks.
Fantastic Mr. Fox
Based on Roald Dahl’s children‘s novel of the same name, with George Clooney as Mr. Fox, Meryl Streep as his wife Felicity, and Bill Murray in the role of their lawyer, Fantastic Mr. Fox sounds promising. This is about how the foxes won over the farmers and made themselves a great living.
A colorful, narrative, adventurous and humorous – this is the story of the grumpy old balloon vendor, Carl Fredricksen, whose wish for a great adventure has finally been granted. Supported by the voice of Ed Asner and made by Pixar. Enjoy.
