Apply for Utrecht Excellence Scholarship
Utrecht University is a public research university in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Established 26 March 1636, it is one of the oldest universities in the Netherlands. The funds for the scholarships come from the Utrecht Excellence Scholarship Fund, established by Utrecht University and from contributions by Utrecht University alumni.
The Utrecht Excellence scholarship can be awarded as tuition fees or tuition fees plus 11.000 euro living expenses. The funding is awarded for the duration of the degree programme, which is one or two years. The scholarship will only be renewed for the second year if the student is making satisfactory progress towards the degree.
The scholarship commission will take into consideration the quality and relevance of the motivation letter for the Master’s programme and assess academic content, intercultural and communication skills, and personal motivation.
The deadline is on 1 December 2020.
Main Criteria
Candidates must demonstrate an official document issued by their university that proves they are among the top 10% of their graduating class. Applicants are required to be citizens of countries outside of the EU/EEA. Students should have completed their secondary school and/or Bachelor degree outside the Netherlands. Eligible candidates are selected for a scholarship on the basis of academic excellence and promise in the proposed field of study.
