The Ford Fund Fellowship For Community Leaders

Social entrepreneurs working towards scaling their community initiatives are invited to join the Ford Fund Fellowship. This virtual programme consists of a two-week accelerator and a year-long fellowship. Fellows will receive $1,000 in seed funding to grow their initiatives. The deadline is on Friday 9th July 2021.

Ford Motor Company Fund is the corporate foundation and philanthropic arm of Ford Motor Company. Watson Institute is the leading accelerator for next generation social entrepreneurs.

Watson Institute shares Ford Fund’s belief that the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs can transform their communities by joining a committed group of peers and mentors, receiving training and seed funding, and building a global network.

The programme consists of a virtual two-week accelerator and the year-long virtual fellowship. Synchronous activities will take place between 8:00am – 11:00am U.S. Mountain Time.

The time commitment for the two-week accelerator is approximately 20-25 hours per week, which includes class time and outside-of-class work.

Each fellow is trained and receives a stipend and logistical support to lead a three-day training (called basecamp) in their home community to empower at least 30 additional entrepreneurial leaders per fellow.

Fellows will receive $1,000 in seed funding to launch and grow their ventures and initiatives.

The deadline is on Friday 9th July 2021.

 

Main Criteria

This virtual programme is for advanced, next-generation social entrepreneurs and community leaders building ventures that create impactful and scalable innovations.

Ideal applicants will demonstrate a proven track record of innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership in their community.

Applicants form the following countries are eligible to apply: United States, China, Mexico, South Africa, and Kenya.
