The University of Edinburgh is one of the oldest universities in Europe going back to the 16th century. Today it enjoys the ranking of being the 20th best university in the world according to QS World University Rankings. Moreover, it is the 6th best university in Europe as reported by the U.S. News. Most especially known for its education in medical sciences over the last two centuries and more, the University of Edinburgh has several faculties and departments covering most areas of education. Here you will find the following schools:

Scholarship 1 – Edinburgh Global Online Learning Master’s Scholarships
12 Masters Scholarships for distance learning. These are country specific and targeted at those who are citizens and residents of the stated nations.
A U.K. first class or 2:1 Honours degree at the undergraduate level or equivalent from another country. Applicants must apply via https://www.myed.ed.ac.uk to be able to access the form you must be registered at http://www.ed.ac.uk/student-systems/support-guidance.
Scholarship 2 – Online Commonwealth Scholarships – One Health, One Medicine
The total number of scholarships are 10 and offer master’s programs in several disciplines: MSc. Biodiversity, Wildlife and Ecosystem Health
- MVetSci Conservation Medicine
- MSc. Global Health and Infectious Disease MSc. International Animal Health
- MSc. International Animal Welfare Ethics and Law MSc. One Health
These scholarships too will be awarded on a country specific basis. Interested candidates may please check out if they are citizens of Bangladesh, Cameroon, Eswatini, Ghana, India, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Pakistan, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Gambia, Uganda or Zambia to see if they are eligible.
During the application process, the candidates must be explicit about their contribution to their country’s development plans and how they will further add to the development of their respective countries.

Scholarships 3 and 4 – Online Commonwealth Scholarships: Surgical Online Learning and Online Commonwealth Scholarships: Global Health
The university shall take 5 students under each of these programs.
These scholarships too are country specific and target students from Commonwealth countries that remain economically weak.

- ChM in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery

One scholarship is being offered under this program that would cover one of the following disciplines:
Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases; 3 years, Clinical Ophthalmology, Clinical Trials, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Global health and infectious Diseases, Internal Medicine, Patient Safety and Clinical Human Factors, Primary Care Ophthalmology, Public Health, Restorative Dentistry, Science Communication and Public Health, Surgical Sciences, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and Urology.
Scholarship 6 – Edinburgh Surgery Online Global Scholarships
The number of scholarships under this program is not specified except for the fact that there shall be several.
The disciplines that are covered under the program are master’s in Surgical Sciences, General Surgery, Urology, Trauma and Orthopaedics and Vascular and Endovascular.
These are also country specific scholarships and candidates must be residents of the World Bank list of low income and lower middle income countries.

Scholarship 7 – Edinburgh Surgery Online Ophthalmology Scholarship
The number of scholarships under this program too is not specified except for the fact that there shall be several and applications can be submitted here.
No countries are specified and the criteria clearly states that the scholarships shall be awarded on a competitive basis.
