Apply for RIPS Internship in the United States
The programme, RIPS Internship in the United States, is organised by the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IPAM) at University of California, Los Angeles.
The institute fosters the interaction of mathematics with a broad range of science and technology, builds new interdisciplinary research communities, promotes mathematical innovation, and engages and transforms the world through mathematics.
IPAM also engages the local community through its public lecture series.
The Research in Industrial Projects for Students (RIPS) Program is an opportunity for undergraduate students or recent graduates with a strong background in mathematics and an interest in seeing how mathematics is used in the real world.
Most of the projects have a significant computational component, so that proficiency in computer science, data analysis or numerical computation is valuable, but not necessary for everyone.
The participants will work in teams on real-world research projects proposed by sponsors from the industry or the public sector. International students from all over the world can apply for RIPS Internship in the USA.
All the expenses of the selected candidates will be covered by The Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IPAM), University of California, Los Angeles.
The program will take place on 22 June – 21 August 2021. Participants will receive a stipend of $3500, a travel allowance coverage, accommodation and meals provided.
The deadline is on 12 February 2021.
