Recipes For Home Made Cosmetics

Getting fed up with the advertisements for guaranteed natural cosmetic products that keep popping up only to find out much of it is not very natural? Why not make your own then? See our recipes.

Home made peeling

Orange peeling
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp of coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp of orange juice

Mix the ingredients gently together. Add more sugar if needed for thickening or juice if it needs thinning. Use immediately.

Fizzy bath bombs

Fizzy Bath Bombs
  • 1 cup of soda bicarbonate
  • 1/2 cup of citric acid
  • 3/4 cup of corn starch
  • 1/2 cup of salt
  • 2 tbsp of oil (coconut or grape seed oil)
  • 2 tbsp of water. Few drops of essential oil of your choice

Mix separately all the dry and wet ingredients. Then slowly add the mix of the wet ingredients into the dry mixture until you reach a consistency when it can be shaped. Store in a glass jar and use within two weeks.

Marigold cream

Marigold Cream
  • 3 tbsp of shea butter
  • 2 tbsp of almond oil
  • 2 tbsp of coconut oil
  • 2 -3 tbsp of dry marigold
  • 1/3 tsp of carrot oil
  • 24 drops of vitamin E

Dissolve shea butter, almond oil and coconut oil in a pan using indirect heat from from another pan in which water has been heated. Then add the dry marigold and continue heating up. Use the same method of heating the mix over the next few days and keep aside to cool each time. After that, strain out the marigold and keep in the freezer to solidify a bit. Then mix well, adding the remaining ingredients. Store in a cool place.
