Press Photo Contest For Media Professionals

Professional photographers from all over the world are welcome to take part in the annual photo contest for the best single exposure pictures contributing to the past year of visual journalism. Deadline to submit your works is 6th of January, 2017.

 

 

The contest is organised into categories, and judged by a jury comprising leading photojournalism professionals. 

  • Single pictures (CI) or stories (CIS) documenting cultural, economic, environmental, political or social issues.
  • All single pictures must have been shot in 2016.
  • Story entries will contain between 2 and 10 pictures. All story pictures must have been shot in 2015 or 2016. At least one picture in a story must have been shot in 2016 or first published in 2016.
  • All pictures shot in 2016 will be eligible for the World Press Photo of the Year award.

Main criteria

Opened for all interested professional photographers.

Winning photographs are assembled into an exhibition that travels to 45 countries and is seen by more than 4 million people each year and sponsored trip to Amsterdam to receive prize during the World Press Photo Festival of Visual Journalism.

The 2017 contest is now open for entries. Entries can only be submitted via the entry website.
