Wesele (The Wedding)
Although the film might give a feeling of an out an out comedy, it’s actually a take off on the many negative aspects of our society. It’s about envy, greed, malice…all offered in abundance during a wedding of the local rich man’s daughter in a village.
The horrors during the years of the war are portrayed in innumerable movies from many different view points. The story is based on true incidents and has been described by Dr. Mathilde Beaulieu in her diaries while she worked for the Red Cross during the end of the WWII. It brings out, pictures of the war that are truly shocking. When called by a benedict nun to a convent she discovers a nun is just about ready to deliver a baby and several others pregnant, as a result of gang rape by the Russian troops.
A true story of a popular history teacher who is slowly losing his eyesight. Determined, he continues teaching without letting it be known to anybody, so that he can keep his job.
This is the third film based on a true story. A random meeting of two teenage girls leads to an inevitable discovery that the one of them was exchanged at birth. The movie follows the path of the the two affected families who are going through difficulties and the two girls who are exploring their own identities.
