Paid On-Air Planning Placement at A+E Networks

Students currently enrolled in a degree program with a mandatory sandwich year are invited to intern at a TV channel in the UK on a 12-month paid internship. Candidates will be involved in the work of the On-Air department and will receive a salary of £21,000. The deadline is on 31 December 2020.

A+E Networks is a global content company comprised of some of the most popular and culturally relevant brands in media, including A&E, Lifetime, HISTORY, Lifetime Movies, FYI, VICELAND, Blaze and Crime+Investigation.  A+E Networks is a joint venture of Disney-ABC Television Group and Hearst.

The On-Air team at A + E Networks are currently looking for an On-Air Planning intern to work within the department, completing daily presentation schedules, continuity plans and scripts on all of the channel brands and territories, including Sky History, Blaze, Crime & Investigation, Lifetime and Sky History2. The internship is suitable for students enrolled in a sandwich course at degree level who are eligible to work in the UK and want to work for what Broadcast Magazine called “The Best Place to work in Television 2018”. Interns will assist with creating script grids, delivery of navigation assets as well as liaising with and preparing voice-over artists for self-op sessions.

Some of the responsibilities are the provision of accurate and creative schedules to Playout in a timely manner while maintaining a thorough understanding of their individual requirements and all associated services, creating script grids and delivery of navigation assets, preparing voice-over artists for self-op sessions, strategies for monthly makelists/continuity plans, support of Playout.

The deadline is on 31 December 2020.

 

Main criteria

Please state within your application that you are studying on a sandwich course. Additionally, please provide information on a project you’re most proud of and attach a cover letter. Candidates should be organized, and have the ability to work to tight deadlines on their own and as part of a team. This role is suitable for someone who has a technical and creative mind and has a passion to learn about the end to end broadcast process.
