The power that we may not understand or realize it’s happenings. Although the internet is poisonous for some entities, it can be a positive career-boosting entity for others.
The music industry has developed with a society’s desire for internet fascination. With the creation of social media and apps such as YouTube, many of the leading musicians managed to create an international pool of talented artists. I’m sure this has happened to you reader. With Halle’s love of jazz sensation “Billie Holiday” to Chloe’s producing inspiration of “Tune-Yards” and “Grimes” and Through the advanced technological world and all things entertainment, the Bailey sister launched a YouTube channel at age 11 and 13. The YouTube channel consisted of pop and RnB cover, as harmony would sweep upon the listener’s eardrum in poetic and angelic remedies. With over 6 million views, the rhythm and blues duo launched into internet stardom, performing on “The Ellen Show” and various other television outlets. According to Wikipedia, rhythm and blues is a music genre that incorporates blues and jazz with pop, funk, hip hop, electronic and more! The genre is also a prominent musical element in the black community of The United States.
After their fame gained a promising fan base, Chloe and Halle released an independent project titled “Uncovered” in 2013. The project consisted of covers by artists such as “Katy Perry”, “Lady Gaga” and their favorite, “Beyoncé”. The beautiful rendition of Beyoncé’s song “Pretty Hurts” managed to slip into the legendary diva’s hand, thus signing the Bailey sisters to Parkwood Entertainment, Beyoncé’s management company.
In 2016, the sister released their first professional debut EP, “Sugar Symphony”. The various television performances and performances in front of laptop cameras were no match for the honor of performing at the “White House Easter Egg Roll” and President Barack Obama’s keynote discussion that same year. That following year, the duos “Two of Us” mixtape received amazing reviews. Mostly self-written and produced, Rolling Stone magazine listed the album as one of rhythm and blues Best Albums of 2017.
That following year, “Chloe X Halle” respectively released the studio album “The Kids Are Alright” with songs prevalently placed in movies such as “A Wrinkle in Time”, the album set the singers out for total melodic domination. Performing in venues around the world such as Berlin, France and Budapest the singers would join their mentor “Beyoncé” and other leading acts on various tours around the world! The album was nominated for two Grammy Nominations in 2018 in the categories of “Best New Artist” and “Best Urban Contemporary Album”. The song “Happy Without Me” is my favorite off of the album. With a mixture of up to date trendy symphonic beats paired with the angelic harmonies, the sisters captivate, this song creates a movement perspective on love and relationships.

The recent album, however, “Ungodly Hour “arrived on the scene this year (2020) the album truly made me completely a hardcore fan. With a mixture of sultry harmonies in this glorifying matrix, early 2000s aesthetic, this album is an entire mood. The amazing part that speaks above all elements in the project, is growth. Seeing the growth of these artists starting at such a young age, you feel connected to them, as well as protective. As they venture into adulthood and tackle discussion surrounding sexuality, faith, and womanhood, the duo spins an empowering vocal quality on all things epic. My favorite song comes with an upbeat and self-loving track called “Do It”. If I’m honest, reader, I didn’t love it at first. I just thought it was some song that blends well in the background. But as I took a second and third listen, it hit me with a ton of bricks. I completely fall into a world of confidence. All I want to do is grab my girls and take the night by storm!

Picture these young girls who had a love and admiration for music’s design and their family’s camera fast -forwarding to their Rhythm and Blues kingdom that they rule so gracefully just five or six years later! “Chloe X Halle” shows that music a grow with the person. It’s a beautiful thing to watch people and artists evolving into their mature sound. If you need a soundtrack to help you ease for long travels, “Chloe X Halle” is for you!
