International Student Award at University of British Colombia

The University of British Columbia is offering international students the Donald A. Wehrung International Student Award. The scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate students from impoverished or war-torn areas who have achieved academic excellence under difficult circumstances. The funding is sufficient to cover living expenses and tuition costs for the degree program. The deadline is on 15 December 2020.

The University of British Colombia is a public research university with campuses in Vancouver and Kelowna, and British Columbia and now is offering the award. Established in 1908, UBC is British Columbia’s oldest university. The university ranks among the top three universities in Canada.

Your award may be renewed for up to three additional years of undergraduate study. The value of Donald A.

Wehrung International Student Award would cover the provided financial need and be sufficient to cover living expenses and tuition costs for the degree of study.

Applicants must meet UBC’s admission requirements, including general and degree-specific requirements and the English Language Admission Standard.

Students should demonstrate superior academic achievement, i.e. achieve all As or equivalent standard, and leadership potential.

The scholarship is provided to students who come from a war-torn, politically unstable, or economically disadvantaged region of the world.

The deadline is on 15 December 2020.

 

Main Criteria

One must be an international student who will be studying in Canada on a Canadian study permit.

One must be graduating or have recently graduated from a recognised senior secondary school.

One must be applying for your first undergraduate degree.

One must have achieved academic excellence under difficult circumstances and have no financial means from family or other sources to pursue post-secondary education in your own country (because it is unavailable or unattainable) or outside your country (because it is unaffordable).
