International Committee of the Red Cross Traineeship

Graduates with a degree in political sciences, law, or a related field are invited to join the Red Cross on a 12-month paid traineeship in Geneva, Switzerland. Fellows will work with the international committee of the Red Cross on restoring family links and supporting the families. The deadline is on Thursday 15th July 2021.

Whether it is in peacetime or during a crisis, the International Committee of the Red Cross and National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, work together to prevent families from becoming separated and people from going missing, restore and maintain family links and family unity, clarify the fate and whereabouts of missing persons and support the families left behind.

Trainees will be placed in Geneva, Switzerland for the duration of the assignment (12 months). The gross monthly salary will be CHF 3,567. The estimated start date is Monday 6th September 2021.  

Interns will assist in finalising guidelines and training materials on methodologies and practices linked to the protection of family links. Additionally, they will conduct research and analysis in collaboration with the team on various issues of relevance to the work of the unit.

Main Criteria

A degree in political sciences, law, social sciences, development, humanitarian action or another relevant field is required. 

Candidates should demonstrate two years of professional experience including internships. 

Excellent command of English and a good knowledge of French are required. Any additional language skills (especially Spanish, Arabic or Russian) are an asset.
