How Eating Healthy Affects Your Body

In my culture, we have the expression "healthy body, healthy mind." When I was a kid I didn't understand what it meant. Now I know for sure that you can't have a healthy mind without a healthy body!

Do we all want a healthy body, mind, and soul? Of course, we all do!

To achieve a healthy body and mind, we must discipline ourselves. We should start doing things to improve ourselves into a better version of ourselves.

Nowadays our lifestyles include a lot of sitting and not moving as much as our body needs to.

We evolved in a world that required us to explore the environment, to move, and without that stimulation, the brain ceases to function at its full potential. Nutrition and physical exercise will keep you active throughout the day.

In this article, I’ll try to explain the importance of what you eat. They say that building a good habit takes at least 21 days. Start with a goal and try at least a month of maintaining this consistency.

I am sharing my experience with a healthy lifestyle. Yes, I’m aware it’s not easy, but believe me, it’s worth it.

“Eat Breakfast like a King…”

A good day starts with a good breakfast. Include all the healthy ingredients your body needs to start well.

Note: Do not skip breakfast since it is the main meal of the day. People say they can’t eat breakfast before having coffee, but believe you should eat breakfast first and then have your coffee.  I had the same beliefs years ago. I used to think that I could not eat breakfast before coffee, but I was wrong. I mistakenly thought that I would gain weight if I eat all five meals of the day, including three main meals and two snacks.

Start with a good breakfast: include proteins, fibers fruits, veggies.

For example, start a day with a glass of water with lemon and ginger, it will help take out all the toxins from the body, and then make a bowl with oats about three-four big spoons, add some milk of your choice, add some fruits, chia seeds (do not exceed more than one big spoon per day), some nuts and that will be a good breakfast. It includes all the healthy ingredients that your body needs to start a day.

As seen in the picture below, this healthy bowl took only two minutes to make!

Ingredients: Oats with skimmed milk, blueberries, almonds, mountain fruits, and coconut flakes.

Don’t let yourself starve. Two hours after breakfast you can have a fruit or non-fat yogurt, two oat biscuits, and a cup of tea.

Lunch Hour

Hmm, lunchtime! Who does not want to pause a bit from the work routine and eat lunch? That does not mean you should take every junk food you find. You have a lot of healthy choices out there. This is one of my lunch dishes for a better healthy lunch idea. For example, this dish I made for myself.

Ingredients: whole bread with mashed avocado, smoked salmon, boiled egg, ½ of banana, orange, and some green olives.

The same advice as for breakfast is included even after lunch. You can have a second snack: nuts, fruits, and a glass of tea without sugar. Also, increase your water intake during the day.

Why You Should Not Skip Dinner?

Many people believe skipping meals or eating less often helps them lose weight. Nothing could be further from the truth.

According to the University of Louisville, skipping meals causes the body to lower metabolism (how much energy it needs to function) and leaves us with little energy since the body runs out of the fuel we get from food. It’s up to you whether you want to eat dinner or not, but keep in mind low-calorie food options.
