Her International Film Festival Returns For Second Year

Back for a second year, Her International Film Festival gives women aged 16-24 the chance to showcase their talents in the film industry.

Her International Film Festival (HERIFF) is an entirely youth-led festival, with the whole creative and decision-making team aged 24 or below.

They accept submissions from young female and female-aligned filmmakers aged 10-25 from around the world.

There is one month left to submit films! The final deadline is August 29th and they accept short films, feature films, short documentaries, feature documentaries, music videos, student films, animation, scripts and screenplays.

Last year was their first year and we received more than 700 submissions from young women from 75 countries, 220 of which they screened during our festival week.

They want to receive submissions from women from all walks of life, and we are a trans-inclusive space.

New Horizons

This year they have launched the HERIFF Podcast, available to listen on Spotify. Released every fortnight, the podcast gives a spotlight to emerging and established women in film by inviting female filmmakers to share their filmmaking journey and their experience of what it means to be a woman in film.

We also launched the HERIFF blog, where you can find anything from discussions of last year’s winners, film reviews, interviews with filmmakers, and personal film journeys from our diverse team.

Her International Film FestHERIFF 2021 will take place October 25-31. There will be events and screenings all week online, and there will be three in-person days in Kerry, Ireland.

Check out HERIFF on social media. They can be found on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Away from Her International Film Festival, we have even more opportunities for you in this industry. How about this in NYC?
