Early-stage social entrepreneurs are invited to participate in one of the Halcyon fellowship programmes. The fellowship provides social entrepreneurs with tools and relationships they need to achieve scalable, lasting impact. Expenses for the in-person residencies in Washington, D.C. will be covered. The deadline is on Friday 8th October 2021.
Halcyon is a non-profit organisation based in Washington, D.C. Since 2017, Halcyon has worked closely with creators and innovators to understand their ecosystems, identify their needs, and explore new programmes and partnerships.
There are three types of fellowships:
- The residential fellowship with a five-month placement in Washington, D.C.
- The Africa Intensive Fellowship with a virtual experience and a one-week in-person residence in Washington, D.C.
- Opportunity Intensive Fellowship with a virtual programme throughout the year and a two-week in person residency in the summer 2022.
Fellows will benefit from equity free stipend, pro-bono support from Halcyon’s legal, business, consulting, and technical partners, and mentorship and leadership coaching.
Flagship residential fellows will also have their accommodation and workspace covered in Washington, D.C. for the five months of the fellowship.

Successful candidates lead early-stage for-profit or hybrid social business that solves a social and/or environmental issue.
Applicants for the Flagship Residential Fellowship may live and work anywhere in the world, Africa Intensive applicants must be currently based in Sub-Saharan Africa, applicants for the Opportunity Intensive must be living in and/or primarily serving a government-designated Opportunity Zone in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
