Four Year Doctoral Fellowship Programme at University of British Columbia

Students wishing to pursue their doctoral studies at University of British Columbia will be automatically considered for the four year doctoral fellowship programme. The funding will cover at least $18,200 per year plus tuition for up to four years of their doctoral studies. Deadlines vary by country.

The Four Year Doctoral Fellowship (4YF) programme will ensure UBC’s best PhD, DMA, and MDPhD students are provided with financial support of at least $18,200 per year plus tuition for up to four years of their doctoral studies.

This programme allows UBC to continue to attract and support outstanding domestic and international doctoral students, and provide those students with stable, base-level funding for their doctoral studies and research.

To be considered for Four Year Fellowship funding, students submit an application for admission to the appropriate graduate programme at UBC. Each graduate programme is allocated a number of fellowships each year.

Deadlines vary by country.

Main Criteria

Selection based on academic excellence, upon the recommendation of the graduate programme.

Both domestic and international students are eligible to apply. In general, the fellowships are offered to students beginning their first year of full time PhD, DMA, or MDPhD studies, but may be offered to continuing students.
