The beginning of the last century brought several changes that could be placed in the category of shortening – be it the length of women´s skirts, their hair, or even shorter working hours. Nothing that happened then, however, compares to the beginning of the Millenium. The ways in which communication is now shortened, often even to a degree beyond abbreviation, is certainly interesting. Hand-in-hand with the trend to abbreviate goes the phenomenon of the Emoji. Emoji – and balancing the general lack of personal contact this way – has become part of everyday communication. How confident are you that you understand the language of Emoji?
