What do you need:
- 250 ml of milk
1 cube of yeast - 2 eggs
- 500 g of flour
- 50 g of butter
- raisins and hazelnuts (optional)
- 100 g of sugar
- 2 -3 spoons of rum
- lemon zest and the lemon juice from 1 small lemon
The base is to prepare a leaven from yeast, a bit of lukewarm milk, and a spoon of sugar.
When the leaven starts to set, add the rest of the milk and sugar, eggs, butter, lemon juice and zest, rum, and finally flour. The dough has to be worked out well so that it rises, and the final product will be soft and fluffy. (At this point you can also add raisins and half of the nuts. The rest will come later while decorating the bread).
After this keep the dough in a warm place to rise and then form it into the desired shape. For inspiration see our photo gallery.

Transfer the bread to the baking sheet with baking paper. If you’ve chosen to add hazelnuts, some of them can be put around the cake. If visible on the bread’s surface, they get roasted and taste especially good.
