DAAD Postgraduate Scholarships For Students From Developing Countries

Graduates with at least two years' professional experience are invited to apply for a postgraduate scholarship to attend a university in Germany. The funding is available for up to 48 months. Application deadlines vary depending on the programme.

DAAD is the world’s largest funding organisation for the international exchange of students and researchers.

The DAAD promotes the training of specialists from development and newly industrialised countries. 

The scholarship includes monthly payments of €861 for graduates or €1,200 for doctoral candidates, insurance, and travel allowance,

Under certain circumstances, scholarship holders may receive additional monthly rent subsidy and monthly allowance for accompanying members of family.

An ideal scholarship holder works either for a public authority or a state or private company in a developing country.

They are engaged in the planning and execution of projects with emphasis on development policies having a bearing on technological, economic or social areas. 

Application deadlines vary depending on the programme.

 

Main Criteria

 The application must include a CV, a letter of motivation, letter of recommendation, proof of two years of relevant experience, English or German language certificates and copies of academic degrees. 

When applying for more than one postgraduate course, you have to submit one motivation letter explaining why you are applying for these specific courses and why you chose that priority.
