BigPicture Natural World Photography Competition

The California Academy of Sciences’ BigPicture Natural World Photography Competition calls application for Emerging Photographer Grant 2020. The deadline is on 31 May 2020.

The aim is to support the creating of photos picturing conservation, science, and sustainability of the natural world. Two $2,500 grants and mentorships will be awarded in July 2020.

The works produced under the grants may be displayed at the Academy in the 2021 BigPicture Exhibit. As part of the application process, candidates must provide an introduction and a proposal explaining their background and elaborating on techniques to be used.  Please also provide 20–30 images and/or links to 3 videos that demonstrate your photography and videography skills.

The deadline is on 31 May 2020

 

Main criteria

The grant is open to all photographers ages 18–25 worldwide. Submissions will be evaluated based on visual aesthetic and technical proficiency, originality and potential impact.
