Best Talking Birds

Being called a bird brain is an insult. Little known is the fact that birds are among the smartest of the animal kingdom. Right from different species of parrots, mynas and starlings, birds are not only known to mimic words but they also understand their meaning. Even ravens and jays are on the list of the most intelligent of the species. On a visit to a friends house during the winter gone by, I was offered a banana by their talking grey parrot and while leaving was instructed to wear my jacket because it was cold outside. Not surprisingly a major recording studio is known to have released a disc of nursery rhymes sung by a bird and even Mozart had a singing starling.
