Harvard College Project for Asian and International Relations

The Harvard College Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR), is a recognized student-run organization of the Harvard University Faculty of Arts and Sciences. HPAIR organizes Harvard University’s largest annual student conferences in the Asia-Pacific region. The deadline for early application round is November 25, 2018.

Today, HPAIR has significantly expanded to offer two annual conferences. Through plenary sessions, panels, keynotes, workshops, and case studies, the conferences provide valuable opportunities for discussion about challenges and trends in the international landscape.

The HPAIR team is aiming to provide 20-25 total partial/full scholarships for the 2019 Harvard College Conference. Scholarship applications will close on November 25 and are separate from the general application. You need to apply to both to receive scholarships. You will only be considered for scholarships if you submit both your application and your scholarship application by the early application deadline. Scholarships will be determined on a case-by-case basis of financial need by each recipient.

In general, a recipient exhibits the following qualities:

  • Passionate about HPAIR and willing to actively contribute to the HPAIR community
  • Stands to gain significant benefits from HPAIR as a conference and as a network of international leaders
  • Demonstrates maturity, a commitment to service, and a global perspective

Main criteria:

Current undergraduate students, graduate students, and young professionals are eligible to apply to HPAIR conferences. In addition, recent college graduates who obtained an undergraduate or a graduate degree in the past 5 years are eligible to apply to HPAIR conferences.
Early round applicants will be notified in mid-December. Regular round applicants will be notified in mid-January.
